The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is provided by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), “a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors,” and is your first step towards becoming a professional licensed engineer (P.E.). The exam is intended for students who have recently completed or are near completion of their undergraduate engineering degree at an ABET accredited program. Our BSCE program is ABET accredited.
Civil engineering students take the Civil Engineering FE exam, which you can learn more about here.
The department provides an FE Civil Engineering review course code for free to current BSCE juniors and seniors as well as BSCE alumni who are within one year of their graduation date. This service is currently provided in contract with the School of PE. The goal is to provide our students with an opportunity to be well prepared for passing the FE exam.
Review course codes last for four months. We encourage our students to take full advantage of this resource to be ready to pass the exam on the first attempt. We also strongly recommend that you allow yourself the full four months to study for the exam.
