Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I get a master’s degree (30 credits, 10 courses) and a certificate (12 credits, 4 courses) using the same courses?
A: Yes, you can get both a master’s and certificate by applying credits from one program to the other. Hence, you can get the master's degree and graduate certificate for only a total of 10 graduate courses. You can apply for one program and then apply to the other before another term starts.
Q: How many students need to be working at my company to receive the discount?
A: There must be at least five (5) total company employees enrolled in the graduate program.
Q: How much is the discount awarded to each employee, and where is it applied?
A: Each enrolled employee receives a 20% discount on their tuition portion of the NJIT bill. The discount applies only to tuition charges and does not extend to university fees, course materials, or other associated costs.
Q: Does the discount apply to both full-time and part-time studying employees?
A: Yes, the discount is applicable to employees studying at any pace.
Q: Is there a fee for the company to sign onto this partnership program?
A: No, there is no fee for the company. The MOU is non-binding. The 20% discount will apply to the term when 5 or more employees are enrolled.
Q: Do all the employees have to be enrolled in the same program to qualify for the discount?
A: No. Employees can be enrolled in any master’s or certificate program.
Q: Do the employees have to be enrolled in programs from the same NJIT department to qualify for the discount?
A: No. NJIT may be able to provide the discount to employees studying various participating graduate programs across the university; they would be considered part of the requirement of five (5) employees enrolled in the university. However, this should be confirmed with the NJIT contact person and the company's HR department.
