NCE’s Cooperative Education Program, or co-op, is a five-year educational program, which provides engineering students with the opportunity to alternate between semesters of full-time work and full-time study in areas related to the student's academic major and career interests. The co-op program is designed to provide experiences that prepare students to connect their academic studies with the professional engineering environment while exploring career interests and their future aspirations.
"NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL will be imminently hiring multiple ‘Pathways Interns’, which is our equivalent of a typical co-op program. Selected students would alternate several times between work and school until they graduate, and then would likely be hired into NASA for full-time employment.... The New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) is pleased to offer its Scholarship Awards Program, named in honor of Dr. Raymond M. Manganelli, former Professor of Environmental Science at Rutgers University, and former Chair of the Association’s Student Programs and Scholarship Awards Committees. NJWEA scholarship awards are available each year, with over 28 awards totaling an annual value of $71,500.
These awards are intended for both graduate and undergraduate students, including those attending county colleges, and technical schools, as well as high school seniors.

The US Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey has an entry level Civil Engineer position open at the Training Center. We are looking for recent graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering. My office plans, designs and oversees construction of large renovation projects. We have a staff consisting of an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, architect and military billet engineer, construction manager and inspector along with the civil engineer position.
The Training Center is the fifth largest Coast Guard Shore Facility with 285 building and over 352 acres to maintain. The position is responsible for designing structural repairs, foundation design, land surveying grading and site work, utility design, etc. It is a great position for someone looking for a variety of design challenges.

"Under direction assists the Assistant Water Superintendent in performing technical and administrative duties for the Water Utility. Will maintain water quality data and sampling schedules, GIS mapping, hydraulic modeling, operational record keeping and assisting with complying to State regulatory requirements. Also performs routine field work including, but not limited to, regulatory water quality sampling, field measurements and other related work as required."
Undergraduate student researcher positions are available in the Dr. Wen Zhang’s research group at NJIT, which covers the following research areas: (1) Material characterization at nanoscale using hybrid atomic force microscope (AFM); (2) Environmental behavior and interfacial processes for nanomaterials; (3) Novel catalytic processes for harnessing renewable energy and pollutant degradation; (4) Reactive magnetophoretic separation systems; (5) Catalytically reactive membrane filtration for emerging contaminant removal. Teaching assistantships are available for PhD students studying in structural or geotechnical areas with support for up to four years of graduate study. Applicants must have a MSCE degree in these areas of specialization.
Admission and financial support will be evaluated only after all application documents have been received. Documents required for application include application form, 3 letters of recommendation, proof of degree(s) completion, official transcript(s) from all universities attended, $60 application fee, GRE, and TOEFL (international students). Research assistants are needed for supported research in drinking water engineering. The work involves analytical methods development, source water characterization, bench/pilot scale testing, and other related work to optimization of water treatment disinfection processes. Potential Ph.D. candidates should have good knowledge in environmental chemistry and water treatment, and have laboratory experience.
