Mr. Eduardo Castro, P.E., joined New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2018 as Senior University Lecturer in Mechanics and Structures. He has more than 30 years of experience in the management and performance of structural design services for new buildings as well as renovations and rehabilitation of educational, cultural, institutional, commercial and government structures. He was responsible for the technical aspects as well as the management of major projects like the $2.1 billion renovation of the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the design of the new Secret Service Headquarters building in Washington D.C. Mr. Castro has extensive experience in a wide variety of major conventional and protective design projects including the $137 million United States Federal Courthouse in Buffalo, NY and the $170 million research facility for Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
